All supports have to be installed at the site before the air deck plates are being placed. The support distances are indicated at the installation plan. A usual support distance is 1800 mm. For the plate support onto a wall less as 40 mm, the first support is put at maximum 350 mm distance of the edge of the plate. The use of more and more heavy lattices makes support distances up to 3400 mm possible. The bearing girders on the supports always have to be placed diagonally on the lattice girders. The duration of the support phase depends of the setting time and the possible strutting of more floors.


The Airdeck plates are delivered at the construction site as much as possible in the order they are being processed at the site. The plates are hoisted at the lattice girders whereby the hook is placed in the edge between the ascending and the descending diagonal. The hoisting has to be made at 4 or 8 points and this depends on the plate size. 

Plates larger as 8000 mm are installed with a gripper.

The plates are put at the right place by means of a site crane as indicated on the installation plan. Nevertheless, should the plates have to be stored at the site for a short time, such storage has to be on a level and sufficient solid underground.
Stacking on the airboxes is possible, however the following maximum weights per airbox have to be considered:

A28095 kg
A34095 kg
A39080 kg
A45065 kg

In case there are no airboxes over lager parts of the plate, the stacking has to be made with cordwood.


The building contractor installs the reinforcement on the airboxes as indicated on the installation plans. This concerns:

  • Coupling reinforcement on longitudinal and transverse joints 
  • Edge reinforcement 
  • Punch reinforcement in case such reinforcement has not been processed into the plate 
  • Upper reinforcement

The upper reinforcement in the zones without airboxes has to be made on the lattice girders, which have been installed in the factory.



The quality of the poured concrete is C25/30 as a standard. In case of a deviation, the corresponding quality has been fixed in the calculation. The quality is always mentioned in the installation plan. .
The pouring has to be made homogeneously meaning no concrete pyramids. The concrete is compacted mechanically during the pouring and protected against desiccation (drying out) subsequently.

In case the pouring size is increased, the quantity has to be increased adjusted accordingly.
